Here we have a list of red things in nature or the natural world. These range from animals, flowers and plants, and food to any form of natural phenomenon on this Earth and beyond. The things on this list come in all different variations, including light pinkish tones to deep dark reds.

Red is a color associated with physical energy and passion. In the natural world, it’s often used as a warning to predators that danger is near. It’s a color that makes us more alert, and pay more attention to the current moment in time.

The wax begonia is a perennial flowering plant that blooms in late spring. It’s originally native to South America, and they commonly have red, pink, and white petals.

Common Zinnia

The common zinnia, also commonly known as the elegant zinnia, is a short-lived flowering plant that was originally native to South America, particularly Mexico.

Dahila

Starting off our red things in nature is the Dahila. It’s found in Central America and Mexico. The Dahila is related to the sunflower, and its color can range from pink, orange, violet, purple, and red.

This is the birthstone of the month of January. Garnet derives from the Latin word Garanatus, which means seed-like, referring to the red color of the pomegranate seed.   

Tourmaline

This gemstone comes in many different color, one of which is red.

These stones come in many different colors, including colorless, which resembles diamonds. Yes, red ones can also be found.

Spinel

While the Spinel gemstone is colorless in its purist form, when mixed with other elements they can often be found with a pink or red tone.

Moving on to animals with our red things in nature. Starting with the Red Panda. It has dark reddish and brownish colored fur. It was once believed to be part of the raccoon family, and then the bear family. Now it’s not considered to be related to either.

Flamingo

The Flamingo is more commonly known for being pink. However, they can sometimes display a strong red coloration. Its color is influenced by its diet and location.

The Scarlet Ibis stand out with their powerful scarlet red color. They’re often found in South America, as well as some other tropical locations.

Macaw

Macaw Parrot.

These parrots are known for their long tails and their mix of bright attractive colors, including different shades of blues, greens, yellows, and reds.

These look more like Lizards, however, they’re classed as Amphibians. Their color and patterns can vary. They can be found with a mixture of colors, including black, orange, yellow, and red.

Rosella bird.

They’re a spices belonging to a family of broad tailed parrots. They can be commonly found with a mix of bright colored feathers, often displaying red, green, blue and yellow.

These birds inhabit American from north to south, and they covered almost entirely with differing shades of red.

The Amanita Muscaria is a mushroom that is red in color. While it’s sometimes eaten, it’s not recommended due to its hallucinogenic and sometimes poisonous properties. Mushrooms are often considered vegetables. However, they are classed as a type of fungus.
